3 day weather outlook “more wet and wind”

Clear spells and scattered showers at first Tuesday night, but thickening cloud will bring heavy and persistent rain across the southern half of the country overnight. Mostly dry and bright with some sunshine on Wednesday although rather cold. Moderate northwest winds will fall light and back westerly later. Another spell of wet and windy weather on Thursday as winds back southerly and increase strong to gale force again during the day. Rain will develop during the morning too, heavy at times, especially in the west and southwest. Cold again and bright and breezy on Friday with some good sunshine and scattered showers.
